Another solid performance by Yankees

Posted on: July 22, 2008 10:30 pm

Five in a row since the All-Star break and now only three and half games back from first, the Yankees have been playing well. The pitching has been very good lately with the bullpen doing ridiculously well. It is going to be a tough decision if/when Bruney becomes ready to come back to the big club. The current bullpen bunch have been solid in covering the seventh, eighth and ninth.

Ponson and Rasner has kept the team in the game for 5-6 innings which is all the Yankees could ask for at this point. With some players returning to health (Kennedy, Hughes, Bruney, maybe Wang), I hope the Yankees don't trade a Kennedy or Hughes for a reliever like Fuentes or a starter like Burnett. Stick to the transition plan and see where this group can end the season.

Another solid performance by Yankees

Yankees are hot, and at the right time to, if they can finish off the Twins with a sweep, they carry huge momentum into their next series with Boston. .It should be a good series as always, but if Pettite on Saturday, and Ponson on Sunday can post big outings and take two of three from them, we are in good shape to take over the lead of the East. I agree with not trading Kennedy or Hughes and seeing what we can do, I like the grit with this team and how they find ways to win.Lets go Yankees!!!!!

Your evaluation of your club is spot on.  Ponson has been rejuvenated, this must mave been a surprise to you?  I don't see them making any moves except maybe for a bat, though Posada wasn't giving much this year anyway.  Thanks for not going after Sabathia, things may work out for my Brewers (2nd favorite) yet.
